SUMMER & WINTER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME :  

Equity Foundation is committed to working with students to help them develop knowledge base and to provide a support structure that encourages creation of new venues in their future.

The objective of this program is to educate students. This serves to complement the student's major area of study, whether it is social theme, legal, by offering a means of putting theory and science into practice. The goal of Internship is to provide the knowledge and skills needed to start and grow new ventures. The program deals with the topics of innovation, analysis, and competitive strategy.

The Centre provides:

* Exposure through programs, speakers, and outreach opportunities;
* Education in informal environment;
* Experience

Internship: Internships will involve a short training period with Centre staff and partner organizations to learn basic skills in:
Sociology
Research
Law
Development

Following a brief training, interns are placed in actual start-up organisations for the internship experience. Interns are required to prepare a written report and give an oral presentation at a closing program outlining the lessons learned and experiences gained during the internship experience at a closing program.

The student intern should ask his/her supervisor at the sponsor organization to write a short evaluation of the student’s performance at the end of the internship. It would be helpful if the supervisor could comment on the student’s performance and contributions made to the organization, including effort, attitude, ability to work with people, and specific results achieved. This report should be sent to both the internship professor and to the Internship Coordinator/Director.

Internship applicants should have -
A Graduate degree in any subject but with an understanding of social issues, development activities, familiarity with the documentation.

Knowledge of the key sociological and political terminology, which is related with a Research Project – previous experience in some kind of research / campaign / advocacy work would be good.

Possess good communication skills in Hindi and English.
Proficiency in the Computers – comfortable with working on web, and good typing speed.
Hardworking, interested in both detail and the larger picture, willingness to learn, methodical, and determined; and – Pleasant and easy-going in character.

Length of Appointment
Internships can last for a period of two months to one year with a recommended two weeks of initial orientation period.

Location
Interns will be based in Equity Foundation Office in Patna, Bihar but will be occasionally required to travel in the city and in the state.

We have trained 6 students from Chanakya National Law University, Bihar as Interns on Juvenile justice, Madarsa education, Domestic Violence and Dowry Act.
